Default Trustworthy mechanic in las vegas

Anyone from Las Vegas have a trustworthy mechanic that will be honest with what is wrong and not try to rip you off? I have had 1 guy tell me I need a new engine. turns out I needed a water pump. scary thing that this guy is Dodge Certified Mechanic and works at a dealership.

How hot did the engine get? Heat can be a real engine killer. If it never got hot, then he was trying to screw you. I would complain, loudly, to the service manager and probably to BBB also.

AAA, ASE, BBB
Look for the shop’s credentials and certifications. Ask if the mechanic or shop is ASE certified, AAA approved, and/or a member of Better Business Bureau. You may want to call the Better Business Bureau to check whether the shop has any complaints on file.
5. Ask if the shop provides warranty for their work. Also, ask if the warranty covers both parts and labor and the warranty period. AAA approved shops are required to provide 12 months/12,000 miles limited warranty on parts and labor.
6. Ask if the shop provides a written estimate and will not do additional works without prior authorization.
you should read this article: http://autosally.com/blog/2010/01/04...nd-a-mechanic/
just a thought, but, you might give the Better Business Bureau a call & ask about Allied Service Center, they are just off the I-15 by Lakes Country Club looks like they are ASE & AAA
