Default Body Control Module replacement?

Hello

I have a 2002 -1500 SLT quad cab p/u. 4.7L v8. A couple of weeks ago when I went to jump start the truck, the hood arms gave way and cut into my jumper cables. Since then, my head and tail lights stay on when I start the truck, no turn signals, speedo, tach, and gauges are dead, power door locks don't work, no brake lights (except for the rear cab light), and the red alarm light on the instrument cluster stays on all the time.

I know its a pretty safe bet its the BCM. I did a search here but didn't find any information about removing or replacing the BCM. Does anyone here have a step by step guide or diagram they could share with me?

As for programming the BCM is it something that I can do or does it have to go to the dealer or where?

Thanks,
Lou

Your truck doesn't have a BCM. Chances are you fried the FCM though.

It's the silver box attached to the front of the IPM under the hood.

Changed it (FCM) and still nothing. My mechanic has a friend that works at Dodge and he hooked up the truck for a test. He said that the instrument cluster is fried. That the BCM isn't called that but for purposes of understanding him he said that the functions of the BCM are built into the cluster. A new cluster runs around $700. I'm going to take the cluster out and shop it around, I don't care if it's used or not, I just need my truck to work!

Any ideas suggestions?

This is why I always recommend a diagnosis before throwing parts at one. I've seen several rebuilders on ebay that have very reasonable prices.
