Default Brakes?

I've been looking into new stoppers for my 04qc. Is there some reason I'm not seeing that the cross drilled and slotted rotors for the SRT-10 won't work? Is there some other rotor I should be looking into instead?

I recommend the EBC Sport rotors, they're slotted and dimpled (dimpled is better than drilled - no cracking issue); couple those rotors with their green stuff pads and you have a great upgrade over stock with less dust and better stopping, not to mention quieter with reduced brake fade. Full work up (4 rotors + pads) comes to ~$600 from AutoAnything. You can also find a set of SSBC oversize rotors with 6 or 8 piston calipers for about $1000

I think how well the cross drilled rotors are made can seriously determine whether you end up cracking them or hot. Also, having proper brake pads is an absolute must. I have aftermarket cross drilled rotors on all four corners of my Audi A6 and I drive that thing like I'm at the track, and never have I experienced any cracking issues.

SSBC is one of the major players in aftermarket brake kits and their kits are quality, although they are very expensive. I'd shop around, the brakes on our trucks are pretty damn good already. I've towed lots of stuff around and never had brake issues while I had my '03 Ram 1500 Hemi. I would highly recommend upgrading to stainless steel brake lines if you're towing or going up and down hills often.
