Default Exhaust Upgrade

I was wondering how hard it would be to install a true dual exhaust instead of just having a single with a y pipe. Anybody have any idea about that?

I wouldnt think it would be any harder than a single if you have the space under the truck. My buddy bought his F150 with a system on it and wanted to go to true duals. He said all they had to do was cut out the Y-pipe and now he has true dual glasspacks. We call it the QuakeMaker...

Easy enough to do. Remove the Y-pipe, weld in some flanges at that end and start building. Don't forget to add an X-pipe down stream.

For the rams exhaust, you would need to remove the collector from the headers(where it goes from 2 pipes into 1). Which may mean new headers. It would have to be a completely custom setup as no one makes a production true dual exhaust setup.

Yep it will have to be a full custom job. So you will have to get someone to fab you up the whole exhaust piping. You will have to get 2 mufflers, from any company really. I would suggest the Flowmaster muffler, since a lot of the guys on here run it. Since you have to go custom why not throw some exhaust cut outs on there as well haha. get the sound of a straight pipe exhaust, that would sound bad a$$

I would suggest Gibson since I have that cat back system on my truck! Sounds wicked!

Try a muffler shop, indipendant or large chain. They can make it from scratch, saves you time, money, shipping fee's and busted knuckles.

so custom job it is then. Thanks for the feedback everyone. I will have to start doing a little research to figure out the most cost effective way to go about this!
