I haven't had any experience with any other generation of RAM trucks except my current 2013. I've previously only driven Fords until now. I've been very pleased with my new Ram. I just have to get used to the lower 17 mpg fuel economy.

My favorite was my 1969, that thing was a tank! Go anywhere, haul more than it should, and come back asking for more!

My 1978 and 1980 were not bad either, still miss the glove box door on them when going thru the drive thru.

My 1985 was nothing to brag about, lacked power and only few cosmetic changes from the 1978 I traded in for it. Turned around 2 years later and traded it for the 1980.

My 1996 was reliable other than the CAT, liked the looks. This was my only extended cab short box truck I will ever own. Stupid short box, always had to run around with the tailgate down to haul materials.

My 2011 so far so good, might take my number 1 spot if I can get it to 15 years without electrical gremlins that seem to show up as they age.

Yeah I have a 2nd gen and it has been a pretty good truck to me so far, no major issues yet. (knock on wood) But I always have wanted one of the 4th gen 2500s with the cummins

My favorite was my '78 440 powered Adventurer. That was a truck everything I needed in a truck with power to spare, would break the tires loose shifting into 3rd in drive! The interior was all business with AC, metal dash, a glove box door that would hold a drive through meal, fuse panel inside the glove box you could access without laying on your back or digging around under the hood, the body was made of metal thick enough you could lean against it without having to worry about denting it.

My second favorite was my '69 that thing was just a tank, and it was my first vehicle AI ever owned.

Default 3rd

02-05 before they changed the headlights is my favorite. I have a mint 02 dodge ram and the curves just drive me wild.

Same here I wanted to get one of the 3rd Gen a long time ago. But when I went to look at it I thought interior was terrible. They made such a massive leap when the went to the 4th gen I was finally sold.

In order... 4th, 1st, 3rd, 2nd

I thought the 78-79 Ford was the best looking truck ever until the Gen 4 RAM.

I went from 1st gen to 2nd to 4th.
I beat the 1st gen to death and it showed every mark. My 2nd gen seemed to belong to everyone I knew. Dump runs, moving van, dirt hauler and it served me well for 15 years. I love the looks of my 2013 but when I see a 2nd gen in pristine shape rolling down the street I pine for my ol truck. I'm at an age where I don't help may people move anymore and if someone wants to borrow my truck to haul crap I just suggest the rent a truck from Home Depot so they don't have to worry about scratching her up. The 2nd gens look is a bit dated to my eye but I wonder how my new truck will appear if I decide to keep it for 15 years or more?? They all have a certain style and if you've ever owned one they retain a certain charm.
