Default Have some questions?

Ok you know on a bike when you use the brakes a lot and over time the metal cable stretches out and you have to either get a new one or tighten it up? So my question is: look below!!! (i have a 97) Because it feels like i am not getting at the horsepower i should be getting.

1. Does the same thing happen to the throttle cable in my truck?

2. Does that Z-Max stuff really work?

3. What is the best CAI that will give me the most Horsepower?

4. What can i do to beat rice burner car (like civics) and any other vehicle that is newer then mine?

5. My acceleration seems slow how can i speed it up?

Well I do not know if the throtle cable can stretch out maybe someone else can answer that for you. If you want a CAI take a look at S&B, I have one and it works great! If you want to take a look at a programmer that would help the truck out a lot. That would give you a betterr chance to beat a civic haha. also if you change your gears to something like a 4.10 that would help on acceleration

Also headers wouls make you breath a lot better which will give you more power. If you want to get crazy look at some cams, that will make you move!

Most all of the CAIs will net you similar numbers. The big question is how deep into your block are you willing to go? You can get a cam, ported/polished heads w/ big valves, higher compression pistons.
But for the rest of us worldly people: for bolt-ons, a CAI, exhaust, and tuner will get you the best; from there, long tube headers, ported throttle body, high flow cats, and larger gear ratio. Nitrous will get you the biggest bang for your buck, but you can only run a 100 shot with a stock motor.

pour rice into the rice burners tank, a bit before you race, otherwise buy a different vehicle to race with

All great ideas, but on a more basic note- clean out your throttle body and check your intake for plenum leaks. When's the last time you did a basic tune-up(plugs, wires, cap and rotor)? If you've got alot of miles on your engine, might want to do a leak down test to check valves and rings. If all those are OK, CAI, exhaust, and programmer will probably give you the biggest bang for your buck, and are pretty easy to do. Might not beat some of the rice burners, but it will make them think twice when they hear you pull up!
