for question 1 if you have a throttle cable above the gas pedal, then you can add some zip ties around it to tighten it up. I did this with my old ranger and it truly did give it better throttle response because it takes out the slack on the throttle cable. here is a link with directions. granted it is for a ford ranger but it may be the same for your truck

Well, there is a post on here as far as ZMax goes. Something about a massive lawsuit against ZMax by some government entity. I would search for that. Personally, I don't trust it. Seafoam is better as far as I am concerned. For performance, everyone else has mentioned the basics. Remember, more air in and out = more power. The 5.2 is old, so there are plenty of parts out there for it. Check out hughesengines.com and hughesperformance.com, I think those are it. They have a ton of good stuff.

You have to remember that you are sporting a 5,250lbs. truck and rice burners generally weigh half or less compared to that animal. If you want some quick bolt on applications go to Hi-Potek.com and try a brand new 52mm or 53mm port and polished throttle body. You can just do this to your existing T.B. if you have time and tools. I put a Speed by Spectre HpR CAI on my 2001 Ram 1500 and went with a full out flowtech exhaust system. Better response is all about inhale first and then exhale. If you do decide to go with a port and polished throttle body try a spacer to add to your intake volume. Intake manifolds are nice to look at and think about but costly as well. Superchips tuners will help after these simple bolt ons and you'll be smoking rice burners in no time, unless they have been modified haha.
