Like hauser said, most programmers can change shift points, but not shift strength.

I had a problem with a slow crawl through my neighborhood... when it finally shifted to 2nd it would give a big clunk in the tranny. I just installed the superchips programmer and it went away. Every shift is smoother. Now we'll see about the mileage savings.

I bought mine locally, but I found them at Summit Racing for 339 and that is the lowest I've seen... just FYI

out of curiosity , does your truck have a modulator on the transmission casing ??
my last truck, (a chevy) did & it had to be changed out, made all the difference in the world, then i changed to a +2 shift kit, talk about quick shifts!!!

this site has some good info

you do realize when a trans shifts smoothly its actually slipping, right?

Its actually bad for one to shift like that...lol But, most people don't like to chirp tires between gears, so, the factory makes them that way.

A shift kit is actually a good way to make your trans last longer by taking stress and heat out of it since it doesn't slip into gear nearly as much.
