Default MPG

What is the best mpg with this engine (5.7-liter HEMI® V8 engine - 390 horsepower, 407 lb-ft of torque) ... My truck is new (600mi) and the best I got so far is 20 mpg at 60 mph. What kind of mpg can I expect from this engine and at what speed?

20 is a good number. Once you get up around 60+ MPH, you'll see a decline.

The more you hit it the more gas goes bye bye! I would have to agree that around 60mph you'l get optimum MPGs, in Canada I would say around 100km/h is best for us. I think between 90-110km/h you'll get best MPGs

I am getting 24 mpg doing 60mph. I have 22' rims with 305/45/22 tires, magnaflow exhaust, DSP, and intake. My MDS stays on unless it is raining or windy, then my MPG decreases. Doing 70, I still get 20-21 mpg.

driving style will affect it the most, a heavy right foor will  your MPGs. I'm getting 20-22 with my HEMI w/ CAI, exahust, and programmer, and that's with a geneticaly heavier righy foot You would see better numbers with a few simple mods and keeping the acceleration to moderate starts.

As the mileage goes up the MPG should improve a slight bit but not much. 20MPG cruising at 60 sounds about right.

Around town, in my lifted beast, I'm lucky to see 12!

And I don't care...I didn't buy the truck for it's stellar MPG. If I was looking for MPG, I woulda bought an "unintended acceleration" equipped Prius...LOL

the best i've ever got from my Hemi was about 14 mpg on the way to Tennessee on the interstate, and that was before the lift!! Around here it's all up and down. If I drive my truck to work, I get around 10 mpg. And that's why I bought a work truck last week!!! lol.

just got back from a road trip and put about a thousand miles on mine. I drove about 6 hrs on the freeway and got about 15.5 to 16 mpg. I agreed with the others, the best i've see is on rual highways, at speeds of 60-65 mph. I usually get 18's to 19's.
