Yeah, supposedly MDS shuts off above 75 mph, but then again some people on here swear theirs had stayed on above that, so I don't know.

But yea, if you are going 80-85 mph getting 16 mpg, you are doing really good, don't complain, these things are about as aerodynamic as a brick. You might as well be towing a parachute. Slow it down to about 70-75 if you want better mileage, and if you want even better mileage than that slow it down to 65-70.
Bottom line is this; if you want to keep your heavy foot, you better have a deep wallet.

I drove to SLC and back twice this weekend... and the computer says with that and local driving I am getting 23MPG... which is about what I usually get on the highway... but I think the fact I am around 3000 feet helps.

I would be happy with that mileage at that speed as well.

Have you upgraded any mods to receive better fuel economy yet; i.e. throttle body spacer?

the other day heading home i peaked at 26.4mpg while doin 90km/h, the only things i have done to improve mileage is a drop in k&n and the exhaust. i dont usually get that kind of mileage but i was on a long drive and was taking it real easy on and off the gas.

No mods yet. Thought about a tuner though. Definately can't ease up on the gas pedal. I think I was a race car driver in my previous life!!! LOL!

I agree with the others, once you pass 65 mph, your mpg drops significantly the faster your go.

At 80-85 mph headed back to Austin from El Paso (600 miles with an 80mph seped limit most of the way), I got around 12-13mpg with some stuff in the bed. At 70-75 I have gotten up to 21 mpg. Hand calculated of course. If you believe the computer calculation, I have a bridge to sell you.

+1 on the Hand Calculations, computers can lie, the numbers can't.

Just to stir the pot a little....Why not trust the EVIC mileage? I mean, with hand calculations you are trusting a crude gas station pump calculation with assumptions that your tank is filled accurately to the same level. Personally, I don't see pumps being dead accurate. On the other hand, you have a truck computer which can sense your speed, mileage, fuel consumption....heck it can even tell temperatures and mechanics what the engine has been doing. It just seems to me the truck should get more credit.
