Default B Pillar covering

My father-in-law has a black '09 CC and his B pillars?(between front and back door windows) are painted body color..... My silver '09 CC has a black wrap on it....maybe some sort of vinyl? Is it painted under that wrap and is that wrap removeable? Anyone try? Just curious...

my good friend owns a body shop. Just after i bought my 2009 Sport he went out and bought one. Since he owns a body shop he decided to give his a paint job to advertise his shop. The vinyl can simply be peeled off. Make sure it is warm. Use a hair dryer to heat it as you pull it off and you will get it off in one piece. Sometimes when the vinyl is cold you will keep tearing it. Heating it keeps it together and makes the job much easier. Hope i helped.

i removed mine. here is a write i did and posted on another dodge forum

here is a walk through of how to removed the B-pillar blackouts on a 09 Ram. Enjoy!

here is a before pic

here is the screw to remove the front door trim piece to allow you to get the bottom of the blackout off.

here is a pic of the front door done before cleaning the little bit of residue off

here is a pic of the screw to remove the rear door trim

i dropped the screw in the hinge and it was a pain in the ass to get back out so i popped the weatherstrip out to put it back in

and here is the after pic.

It's personal opinion I guess, but I like the black out look. Once you get your front windows tinted everything flows together.
