Default Elusive EGR valve.....

Hi everybody! Please does anybody know how to locate the EGR valve on a 2005 Ram 1500 4.7? I am searching for it to replace a faulty one,but it is difficult to locate. A precise location spot would really help me.I would be soooo grateful for a quick reply to my problem.! Thanks and have a good day.

Hi Tom,
thank you so much for that info. I located the EGR valve, however, I cannot see a way to get at it either from under the hood,or from below! It has to be in the most inaccessible spot ever! If you have ever replaced one,I would be grateful to know if there is a way to access it sucessfully. I really do not want to get into stripping down lots of stuff as I am not skilled at that sort of thing. I could see maybe that at a dealership or garage it would be easier up on a hydraulic lift, where you could stand underneath the vehicle, but I do not have access to that facility. I know it's a simple task basically,it's just getting at the damn thing!Again, thank you kindly, and if you know a way..........Sincerely, Rob Tate

Default EGR Valve......Again!! Help badly needed.

Hi everybody, posted a question yesterday about locating the EGR valve on a 2005 Ram 1500 4.7. Had replies, and found location of valve. However it is in a really hard place to get at,and I have no idea how to go about reaching it. I can hardly see it,tucked way back on the block on the drivers side. If anyone has ever changed one of these themselves, I would be very grateful for any tips on doing it! Thanks.....Rob Tate.

Well, not sure if its in the same spot as mine, seeing mine is a 5.7. You should see a metal tube that comes from the intake, follow it, it terminates at the EGR. Also be sure to take off and clean the tube as well w/ some brakeclean. You may want to send remerson228 and he could possibly provide you with a diagram w/ a service tech how to.
