Default Dual Exhaust Suggestions

I am looking to do a dual exhaust on my 07 quad cab. I have used a local muffler shop for a few prior vehicles, and have never bought a pre made kit. This seems like a pretty good option, and wondering what others have used and how happy they are with them, how hard to install. I want duals out the rear, and nothing too loud. I like an aggressive sound but want my 3yr old daughter to still be able to sleep while driving. I know they vary in price and want to stay reasonable, would like to be under $500

If you want a subtle growl and a huge wake up at WOT, i'd suggest a corsa or borla muffler. The magnaflow and flowmasters are both designed to be loud. My Borla is subtle under normal driving but really lets people know I have something when I step on it. As for the set up, are you doing true duals with 2 mufflers or making up a 1-into-2 setup?

I would like to go trual duals to get that extra bit of power. Do you have the full Borla setup or just the muffler. I have not priced them but thought I read a Borla set was around $1k, which is really more than I would want to spend. The local shop I have dealt with does a lot of flowmaster and magnaflow, but like you said they are made to be loud. I want the tone and to hear it when I get on it, but at cruising speeds want it relatively quiet.

What magnaflow mufflers did you go with? Did you go true dual or just Y it into duals?

Do you have a kit that you bought or custom done at a muffler shop? If you dont mind, what did it cost and did you install yourself?

^^^ Same here. But to be honest with you, I'm not entirely sure if it was custom or not, but I'm assuming it was a purchased kit that the previous owner installed. Dual Magnaflow mufflers with the nice shiny dual stainless tips that each say "Magnaflow" on them. It's pretty rumbly all the time, though, but sounds pretty sweet if you ask me.

You will have to get a custom exhaust made if you want true duals. I do not think you wil be ringing up under $500, maybe under $1000. Your going to have to go custom for true duals. The only way you can get a cat back system pre made would be the 1 in 2 out.

Well hope this helps
