Default 50 series flowmaster installed...

Hey everyone, earlier this week I made a thread asking about which flowmaster to put on my 2004 hemi, I decided to go with the 50 series. After I clamped the muffler to the existing pipe, I took it for a ride, it was pretty loud but I also heard a lot of it in the cab. My question is, if I eliminated the resonator before the exhaust tip would it remove some of the noise that I heard in the cab? Keep in mind that when I test drove it, the muffler was just dumped underneath the bed with no exhaust tip on it. Sorry for the kind of confusing post, I was just wondering if anyone else has ran into this kind of thing.. Thanks everyone.

flow 50 is a loud muffler, I wish i could have chimed in when you were choosing a muffler. It was too loud for my liking when I ran a flow 50 delta (for about a year an a half).. imo a magnaflow is a much better sounding (and almost half as quiet in the cab then the flow)..and I have mine dumped after axle.. at the track, flows just doesn't sound right, the mags sound like what a V8 should sound like..

..yul need to add the resonator back in to quiet some of the noise..

i put on the flo master 18 inch on just the muffler hooked up to resonators sounds good . my opion keep the res on . less noise in cab /// thats the 3 inch in and duels out sorry i ment the mega flows flow masters i dont like

my thought is to get the exhaust exit out from under the truck, either out back of the bumper or out the side, when the exhaust dumps below the bed, your going to hear it reverberating between the road & the trucks bed
also you can put a shield above the muffler, there is 1 on ebay for your flowmaster

you'd be surprised how quiet a dump is when done right (that don't sound right..lol)...before the axle can be obnoxious...after the axle at a 45 and you can barely hear it..and it is much quieter then the tailpiped exhausts..

Thanks for all the input guys, so the consensus is that if i took the resonator off and routed the tailpipe in the stock location the noise in the cab wont be too bad?

..what works for one may not work for others...anything I've ever said is based on experience on my own truck..I've change my exhaust setup not once or twice but five times...some of the reasons were the unbearable drone an/or tooo loud in the cab ( i do wanna have a decent convo without raising my voice), the later changes were for the performance aspect. I ran high 13's with Flows, until I changed to mags I could not perform any better..with mags my times improved quite a bit (knockin on 12's now), I use to follow other guys advice regarding dumps (bein too loud)..and when I did them before axle they were..but when I did them after axle, the sound inside the cab dropped a ton... others have been slow to agree but the guys who have done it were surprised at the results...
