So i was parked today when my check engine came on and i had it checked and it read out an Evap Code and something about unable to create a Vaccume. just wondering if you guys had any idea how to get rid of this code?

You have an small EVAP leak. Could be anything from a loose/defective fuel cap to a crack in an EVAP line. Check the rubber lines for cracks and the fuel cap for tightness. If you can't find anything, you'll probably have to have the system pressurized and smoked to locate it.

in Arizona Its free @ a couple Auto parts stores to read the light then go fron there,I had a similar light It was a evap line that melted to my header on driver side . Check your vacuum lines and the seal of your gas cap.

you know come to think of it i did smell plastic or rubber burning so ill check it out! yeah autozone was the one who told me the code but didnt offer to help me locate it. i know its not there job but ya know lo l. I know the reason for the EVAP system but if i dont fix it soon will there be a long time effect on my truck like cause any other problems besides my gas evaporating?

well i played with the gas cap to see whats what this morning and when i droped my wife off today i turned the truck off and when i fired it back up the light went off! even though that fixed it i still bought a new gas cap and looked at the old one and the rubber was messed up on it so im shure thats all it was! thanks for all of the answers and feed back!
