Question 295/70/17 on OEM 17" Rim

Hate to clutter up forums with threads that have been covered a million times but I couldn't find an answer. Will a 295/70/17 (looking at Nitto Terra Grapplers) fit on the OEM 17" Rim (believe it's 17"X8") for my 07 4WD 1500 with a 2" Daystar Leveling Kit? Guessing maybe a little rubbing at full wheel lock aswell?

Thanks!

with an 11.61 width, you'll rub at full lock, a spacer would help with that if you're ok with having one, some people don't like them. Should fit on the rim alright, but check Nitto's site, they have a rim/tire fitment chart; I used to to find the size I needed for my NT420s.

I have 295/70-17 terra grapplers/(oem wheels) on a 2000 ram 1500 4x4 and I have room to spare. But I have a straight axle up front and it seems to sit higher than the newer rams, so it would fit on your wheels but I'm not sure about it rubbing...

Thanks for the suggestion. I actually like my stockers & figure I'll paint or powdercoat them Matte Black. I think they'd look pretty good with a 285 or 295 series tire but want to make sure they'd fit before I ordered them.

According to Nitto's Website looks like they will fit- Approved Rim Width: 7.5-(8.5)-10.0

Assuming the rim is between 7.5" and 10", which it's 8" so wouldn't you say I'm good?

I don't think those would rub at all. You usually don't get rubbing with stock wheels until you get closer to the 12.50" width tires. My cousin has the same exact truck as you with a 2" level and he's running 35x12.50x20's and only had slight rubbing at full lock but he doesn't have stock rims either. I've got 35x12.50x17 on mine with a daystar 2" level kit and my wheels aren't stock but their still only 8"s wide. I wanna say their like 5.25" backspace and -22mm offset something like that and I get very minor rubbing at full lock on the very bottom of the inner fender well. Theirs a little plastic nub down there that I could cut off to fix it just doesn't bother me enough to do it lol.

Toyo makes a 285x75x17 which comes out to like 34x11.50 and that would look really good on your truck too. Still give you some of the height without all the width lol. Or 305x70x17 is like 34 or 34.5x 12.

Ok thanks, yeah I think I'll either be a 295 or 305 just so it doesn't "overfill" the wheel well
