Default New 2010 Ram Sport Owner

Hey Guys,

Checking in with my first post. Just picked up a 2010 Black CC Ram Sport. Decided to retire my Dodge Dakota Sport and join the big boys. I loved that Dakota but it was time.

My Sport came with the "optional" chrome grill. Apparently the factory can't make up their mind on painted vs chrome on the sport but I actually like the look better so I'm not complaining.

The truck with the Hemi is awesome. Looks great and drives great. Alot of power and I was getting 22MPG on the highway yesterday. The steering wheel could feel the road a bit better and I do miss the control my manual transmission gave me but the tap shift on the new truck is pretty good for hills and curves. Which leads me to a question.

I live in an area with hills and twisting country roads. After driving a manual for so many years, I have made it a habit to downshift when appropriate to maintain control of the vehicle around turns, hills, etc. Is the tapshift really made to do this or will I wind up shortening the life of the transmission?Another alternative I have tried is driving in Tow/Haul mode in hilly areas and winding roads because it favors lower gears but same question - is that bad for the transmission in the long run?

I know the truck was made to use these features but how frequently?

Oh, and one last thing if you made it this far and have not moved on. My only complaint so far - Tow/Haul mode seems to be blowing a fuse every time I use it. Not right away but after using it and then starting the truck up again the next day. The fuse is for the interior lights and the steering wheel controls as well as the Tow/Haul switch. Has anyone else had this problem? I want to get my facts straight before I take it to the dealer.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Welcome and great color. Trucks are always black. I wasn't sure about the chrome grill at first, but it makes these trucks look right.

Welcome ! Hey I did the same thing. Had a Black Dakota crew cab with 4.7 V8 and loved it. Was on a two year lease. Just moved up to a Ram 1500 Sport Quad cab 4X4. Absolutely loving it. I have not had any problems with tow/haul and fuses however I must confess that I don't use it very much. I just stay in Drive most of the time. Anyway Welcome to the Ramz, this is a very helpful place for sure

Welcome to the forum. The fuse issue is not normal and should be fixed. There's obviously a short or mis-wired circuit somewhere. That can be dangerous!
