Default no ABS on my SS/T?

I replaced the front rotors a couple of months ago and noticed there were no ABS sensors on the spindles at all - no wiring, nothing. But there does seem to be an ABS module plumbed in by the brake booster. Is this normal?

Also, mine came from Indiana and the rear drums are RUSTED on to the axles. I've used a MAP gas torch and 4lb sledge to try to break them loose after the usual penetrating oil, etc. failed - anyone ever have to cut their rear drums off?

There was two wheel and four wheel abs. You probably only have two. Try oxy/acetylene, That will heat it up.

Ah, good to know on the ABS. When I used the MAP gas I heated it up till it was smoking, tried swinging the sledge at it HARD, and even sprayed it down with cold water to see if it would snap it loose, but nothing. Some DAMN tough drums!

I saw something today that i had never heard of & i am skeptical

If you notice, in this next video, this guy uses a penetrating fluid called Kroil, it can be found in most Gun stores. Its is the last fluid that i use before breaking out a torch. Kano Laboratories, Kroil creeps into millionth inch spaces, breaks bonds due to rust, corrosion, contamination, or compression and lubricates to loosen frozen metal parts.

Normally PB Blaster is good enough to do the job, it is better then Liquid Wrench, which is about 10 times better then the Water Displacement stuff that every kid tries to use on bicycles & skate boards

If your really lucky, you have 2 threaded holes in the drum

I can't imagine the first method could work, but I'll give it a try. The second and third don't apply. It's not a matter of worn shoes ground into the drums, etc. They are simply rusted onto the axle flanges.

have you backed the brake shoe adjusters off as far as they can go ?

The brake shoes are likely hanging up on the brake drum wear lip

Yes.

Again, this is NOT the shoes stuck on the drums. I've had that before and there is some play at least due to the springs holding the shoes in place. When you wail on the drum with a 4 pound sledge hammer and it does nothing but dent the lip of the drum it is RUSTED in place.

Yeah your truck will have only rear wheel ABS, don't ever rely on it as that system is nearly useless honestly.

I like removing rusted drums with a 18lb sledge and a high level of aggression. If the drum shatters then woo! I don't even have to pry it off at that point. Just be careful and don't hit your axle shaft with that much power or you stand I high chance of breaking something. Alternate from 12 to 6 to 9 to 3 O clock on the drum and it will yield.

I get a kick out of those people on YouTube, what the heck do they think a claw hammer is going to do. They were not even the 22 ounce hammer.
I first try a dead blow hammer & then use 4 pound & up hammers as needed
