Default check engine -code 32

hey guys and gals,i have an annoying little problem with my truck and am looking for advice.
the check engine light is coming on.when i switch the ignition key three times it counts out code 32 (Short or open in the EGR solenoid circuit ),i have checked all connections and hoses in that area but cannot see anything wrong.
the truck drives fine and the light only comes on about once a week.
so..can anyone guide me as to what to check next or had a similar problem.
also where is the data plug located in the truck, cant seem to find it.was looking for a 16 pin connector but cant see any. truck was manufactured in 1995 so should it be 16 pin plug?
any help would be great, not a lot of knowledge on these macnines over here

Your problem may not be a hose or wire. Two possible areas that need attention:

1. EGR Sensor needs replaced.
2. EGR valve needs replaced.

Look under the dash, on the driver's side, for the data port.

The EGR solenoid or circuit wiring has a problem.

thanks for the info lads,i dont think the egr valve is the problem as the engine runs fine,so i will concentrate on the solenoid ect.
