When I removed mine I had some grit lines surrounding the areas that the trim was attached to. A bit of rubbing compound, some wax and polishing did the trick to remove them.

My truck hasn't be repainted it has the factory paint on it, which is the only reason why I was worried about fading, if it had been repainted it would have been simple I would have told them to keep em' off, but I'm trying to keep the factory paint job as long as possible even though where I work is killer on paint jobs, but just gotta cover the truck up while I'm there. Hate those little black spots burning into my paint.
Original Poster is what It stands for, sorry. I'll be honest with you, if you think you'll like the debadged look, just do it. You can just as easily put them back on with 3m tape. I should have clarified on the paint I guess. I don't know why anyone would do this but.... I have seen where people remove the molding or badges only to find some body shop sprayed clear over everything leaving a line under the moldings or badges. You should be fine if it's factory paint, but, like others said you'll see a slight tan line around the badges. It's normally easily removed by a little elbow grease. Just take your time and good luck!!

EDIT.. On a side note, If you use goo gone make sure you clean it off good and don't let it set on the paint for a long time. I have read where it's bad for that stuff to stay on paint for a very long period of time. But, it works awsome.

Also just for reference, I took the molding off my 15 year old T/A, used the method I posted, and under a flouresent (sp?) light you can't tell they were ever there.

Sounds good man

I should have waited until the weather got warmer. I got too excited, and did it in the cold. It came out fine, it just took a lot longer.
