Default Lucky Dodge Ram buyers

In 1999 and 2002 I bought new Silverados. The first I had a fairly wide choice of options and interior colours but by 2002 Chevy had already started dropping interior colour options and after that, body style options were dropped.
Just for fun last night, I logged onto the Silverado site and tried to build one that I would like.
Ordering my Dodge was so much easier and offered a better list of options.
The 2010 Silverado ordering was ridiculous. There were no bucket seats at all; the short box was available only on the crew cab! Regular cabs were mandated the long box.
20" inch tires were available on a Silverado unless one ordered the 3:73 rear end, then one was back to 17" ones.
There was an LT interior option AND an exterior one instead of just one package.
Even getting a six speed or four speed auto seemed to be determined by other options. And the choices continued on--requiring other changes to other options seemingly with each choice.
Two things became evident during this exercise: 1) I couldn't order a Chevy the way I preferred no matter what and 2) At least buying Dodge, one is in no way so restricted. I am glad I changed to Ram.

I hear ya, my last truck was a chevy also, glad I went with the RAM instead! That and the fact I wanted a diesel so what else could you have under the hood but a Cummins?

I really wanted another Chevy 1/2 ton, instead of the Ram this time.
That being said, I used the computer & the printer to get everything that I wanted on a sheet of paper, then i crossed out & hand wrote in changes that i wanted. Then i went to Chevy with the list & let them tell me if I could get it that way. There were 2 sticking points, first they said that i couldn't get 4 wheel disk brakes, that it was no longer an option, i still can't understand that??
2Nd they would not remove the OnStar, I don't need more Big Brother than is already in every vehicle made since the 2000 models. So I walked off the Chevy lot irritated
I am now a PROUD RAM owner I have a vehicle that handles better, gets enough gas mileage, has all the power that i will ever need, better brakes, & no damn OnStar

Ah yes GM and there OnStar "cult" for lack of a better word, called up to cancel it once the year was over, and it was like playing 20 questions on why you didn't want the service anymore. Hmmmm maybe because I never used it.... With that being said I don't really care too much of the looks of the the chevy's the gmc's aren't too bad but i am now a PROUD RAM owner too!

See, and who said WE were the crazy ones for loving our rams? Also, I'm a Mopar?FoMoCo guy, so the thought of a bow-tie just makes me cringe
