Default Anyone pick up hitch hikers?

I was riding yesterday with my youngest daughter, windows down and as usual, music UP when all of the sudden I got hit with insectzilla. I got out of the truck screaming like a ninny swearing it was caught in my shirt and looked in the Quad Cab portion of my truck and on the floor was........

To give you an idea of it's size, when I first saw it's wings I told my little one, "everything is ok, it's just a dragonfly"!

So my question is this: what kind of hitch hikers have you picked up?

Picture driving a mazda 323 hatchback with 5 passengers and all the windows down driving 130kms/hr. Suddenly there's a very loud crack, and since I'm in the middle back seat, I suddenly have the head of a rhino beetle sitting on the book in my lap. Well, after my brother next to me screamed like a little, Dad pulled over and we searched the car; found the rest of the body in the back and a 3/4" chip taken out of the INSIDE of the back window: had to get it replaced actually.

Now a rhino beetle is heavily armoured with 3 horns on the front and average size is 2-3" long. Here's a pic of one.

Sorry Paris, but that would've been funny to watch you jumping out of the big truck screaming about a little bug

Couple weeks ago, I opened up my passenger door and saw what looked at first glance like a bug with really long wings (I was only half awake, but had to get my dog to the vet early). Upon closer inspection, turns out it was, at least in my extremely aracnophobic world anyway, healthy sized spider getting ready to emerge from its egg pouch! Well, I didn't have time to get my friend over to remove it, so as soon as I got back home he came over and in that amount of time, the darn thing disappeared! He finally got it to crawl out from behind the weatherstripping and I told him he better get that thing out of my truck and make sure it's dead 'cause if that had crawled out or across my dash while I was driving, I swear I would flip my truck!

Quite the stories there! To watch people freak over little bugs makes me laugh pretty hard....sometimes...not to say i dont do, coming home from the local campground 2 lane road windy forest, hot summer day, windows down, out of no where huge bee on my arm...luckily no one was in the next lane cuz i was all over the road trying to get that one out of my vehicle

safe to say the windows went up after that!!

These are awesome, awesome stories. I have one more to add that came to mind....
We have had numerous Wranglers and we believe at the first sign of good weather, the top comes down and the doors come off. We went down one of those, "i wonder where this dirt road goes", trail and the kids pointed up above at a radiation/banana/ryder back/golden orb weaver SPIDER hoovering above our heads in its nest. Just then as my husband looks back towards the road.....he hits the brakes, jumps out and is appearing to fight with himself. Then he stops and tries to find a stick, blowing at the hood of the jeep. Then he finds a stick and starts swatting at the hood of the Jeep, then throws the stick and hits something with his hand. At this time we girls finally see what he is "dancing" with.....as it lands on top of the sun visor from him blowing it MY WAY. I started screaming and freaking out.....I felt like a cat scratching it claws on the seat trying to get out fast enough. We finally get it out and once we were off the trail, all of us girls got and had Scott tear that Jeep apart to make sure there was no more spiders, all the mean while he is laughing thinking this is a riot! What happened was this, as we were looking up, we apparently drove right into a web that was strewn across the trail and knocked the spider in/on the Jeep.
