pretty easy when you do it a few times.. here is a quick synopsis..

-drain oil and radiator
-disconnect an remove radiator, move tranny cooler and ps cooler off to side, remove cross member
-remove cai, valve covers, alternator, unbolt and hang ac compressor (don't forget bolt behind compressor), unbolt and move to side the power steering pump
-remove egr, coil packs an valve covers
-remove valve rocker arms and pushrods
-with the chrysler specific harmonic balance puller (only real custom tool you'll need), pull the crank pulley as well as other 2 pulleys on timing chain cover/water pump
-unbolt an remove timing chain cover (don't forget bolts coming up through oil pan)
-release tension on chain tensioner, unbolt cam bolt and pull timing sprocket off and place to side, then unbolt an remove tensior plate
-spin the cam a few times to push lifters out...put cam bolt back in a few turns, pull cam out
-lube new cam and slowly insert
-go backwards from here..the key is to either degree the cam or use marking points cuz the chain has to go on exactly right or timing will be off..

this is the basics..obviously there are specific details I left out but you get the idea

Thanks for all the input. I haven't decided on a brand yet. I am looking at the "Spartan" cam, does anybody have any experience with it?

I run the Spartan..the fastest stockblock na qc in the 1/4 also runs a spartan...if and when you do buy, make sure you ask Stu to grind it with an lsa that works with your year pcm..

Did you replace you valve springs and push rods? And do you think my Superchips will be good enough to tune after installing the cam?

because of the lift you WILL have to do at least 6.1 valve springs and pushrods. The superchips will work but you have to tell Stu what you have in terms of mod, tell him because it's an 03 that it can't be custom tuned (but I'm sure he already knows that), he will grind it to an lsa that is pcm friendly...and if you wanna know what it sounds like...
