Default all wheel drive

my dodge only has 4 settings on the dial neutral, all wheel drive,4 low an 4 high since i cant put it in just 2 wheel drive will it hurt the truck to do a burnout in it was at the drag strip an they was burning the tires off their trucks but mine just says all wheel drive an i dont wanna tear it up.

i would be surprised if you could light them up having AWD! my mom has an 02 durango with the 5.9L and even on a wet day i cant get those tires to spin one bit....maybe i havent tried hard enough!

if im correct i think its a 60/40 split for power favoring the rear?? i let one of the more knowledgable guys chime in tho so dont take my word for it!

Technically, you could do it but you really shouldn't need to with AWD. Sure it looks cool but you can overheat street tires and actually impair traction if you get them too hot. People with vehicles under warranty should think twice about this because if we catch on to what you're doing and come in for a warranty repair related to racing, your warranty won't cover the damage. I've had to void a warranty once because I saw the customer in question at the drag strip doing burnouts and he wasn't smart enough to clean up the rubber left in the fender wells.

id rather not do any burnouts i was just wondering because i have seen people on you tube an at the drag strip doing them in the same truck i have an couldnt figure out how they wasnt tearing anything up.i was always told it would hurt your truck.
