3.55 would be better for gas mileage while the 3.92 would give you better performance .

thats what i was wondering.... so the 3.92 would be better for pulling/torque and power would it change the trans shift points?

It would make the motor rev to the red line a little quicker . But if you have 3.55's now , your not gonna see that much of a difference . Theres only 37 points difference . Alot of guys on here have opted to go with 4.10 gears

Yes there are several guys on here who have had 4.10's installed and they love em . Theres even been guys that have installed 4.56's in their V-6 powered trucks . The only draw back to gearing down a vehicle is that your gonna tach higher rpm at cruisin speed . Just for example :

right now your truck may be taching 2100 rpm at 55mph .
after a 4.10 install , it may be taching 2800 rpm at 55 mph .

You will see a difference in gas mileage .
