Default shutting down to four cylinders, does some hemi's have this feature?

hey guys, i have a 2006 2wd 5.7 hemi 1500 big horn edition and was wondering if my truck has this feature where it shuts down to four cylinders when its not using all the power on the freeway. my friend says he has this on his 2007 (same model as mine) i have flowmasters and i noticed my truck when its on the freeway around 70 to 75 mph, the exhaust sound kinda changes, like its shifting to a higher gear and then goes back to the way it sounds when i give it a little bit of gas. how do i know my truck has this feature and not some mechanical issue?

Just to be clear, this is only on the 1500 series with the Hemi from '06 and up. The 2500-3500 trucks do not have MDS.

I have a 2007 Ram Quad with the 5.7 Hemi and trust me the MDS engages at any speed when you level off on the gas. If you have duals then it would sound like a busted engine (dead cylinders) or a real crappy Mazda with a glass pack. Odds are your referring to the "OVERDRIVE" when it engages.

Do you have flowmasters dumped? If so, what series? I had the 50 series on my 04 dumped and am considering doing the same thing on my 08, but I'm not sure how it sounds when the MDS kicks in.

My 09 TRX has that feature. The "Semi Hemi" feature.
