couple places I've seen them mounted..on the front frame in front/below radiator or the passenger side frame rail, can mount compressor and tank to passenger frame rail too..

I have a smaller air horn setup, no tank, but has a small compressor that does the job for me for now. My horns are mounted on the back side of my radiator support at the bottom, the compressor is mounted to the front bumper and protected on the bottom by a rubber piece. I am hoping someday to get a Nathan train horn, and move the ones I have now inside for the car alarm.

I have a set of train horns that I got off ebay and it seams to be holding up pretty good, The company name is seige engineering. The air tank and compressor is all built in 1 tank. I have the tank where the air box was mounted on the wheel well and never had any issues with it there plus it is out of the weather and the horns are mount under the radiator. Also I have it hooked up to the main horn with a switch to turn it on when needed lol so i did not need to add another horn button. I have that on and off switch under the steering column.
