Exclamation Help with center console box build please!!!!!!!!

Ok so ive exhausted every idea i can think of to build a center console sub box. i cant make up my mind. i am willing to lose the front cup holders, ash tray and rear middle leg room as well as rear cup holders. my truck is an 04 Quad Cab.

My Mitsubishi Lancer had 3 12"s in the trunk and it beat like a mother......so i need lots of bass. I think im going to use a Kicker L7 12" since they can beat a car out by themsleves. but subwoofer suggestions welcome also

so post some pics......some dimensions......some ideas.....anything you got for me......its going down sunday and monday.....

and no idea is to crazy people. thanks

Kicker squares are "my" PERSONAL least favorite woofer to work with. They don't handle near the power they say they do and they like to be tuned to high and don't reproduce the lower hz very well...

The woofer selection you'll have will determine the depth you have to work with and the amp power you're gonna have to push them...

What components are you going to use?

I'm sorry I meant Amps. Or mainly what Woofer amp are you going to run?

thats another think im not to sure about. im going to have limited air space because the box cant be to huge to replace the center console. plus i would really like to keep my armrest.....any suggestions on a single amp and single sub setup that will hit hard. or possibly 2 10"s that would hit hard? i had a 1200 watt x-plod amp on the 3 12's and it hit okkkkish, but i need sharper, deeper, clearer sound

In all honesty... that sony 1200 maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe puts out 300 watts if you're lucky. They're okay if you're on a mega budget but if you're looking for some true power you'll have to go with the upper end of the brand name amps... I like, fosgates " Power Series Amps " none of their others, or Arc Audio Amps (especially the signature series amps), I think Kickers ZX amps are okay, US Amps are good, Sound stream amps are okay, Hifonics Brutus amps are okay, RE AUDIO amps are solid, etc...

Woofers, there's tons... I like FI AUDIO woofers, Re Audio, JL Audio, Arc Audio, Fosgates Power Series, and many many more....

I don't know what your center console looks like now but i know they make center console boxes already for purchase to save you all the trouble.... maybe check that route out first...

way ahead of you man.....the center console box that people try to sell doesn't have enough airspace to accommodate the kind of bass im looking for......and no money is not a problem.....if im gonna customize my vehicles i spare no expense......but yeah, im just gonna start builiding some boxes sunday......ill post some pics when im done.....and preciate the input

I hope I'm not gonna get yelled at for this, but kicker is kinda a BS brand, they are OK speaker wise, but their "claimed" stats on their products are always wrong and are usually more than double what the product can actually handle before the cones start clipping. They like to state peak power as their RMS, which is total BS and you will never hit that peak power anyways, and if you tried to for more and a minute you would likley blow out the speaker cone.

Anyways, about your sub box, if you talking about replacing the center console with a sub box, JL makes a box called the "Stealth Box" that replaces the center console entirely and can fit up to 1 12" sub.

Stealth Box

Link is above, it still gives you that center console to put stuff in, and mounts the sub as down-firing. Highlight over the picture to see how the sub looks inside of it, and browse around the site for more info.

Hope this helps

The link that 'Valldar" posted to the JL Audio stealth box is a great choice. i have installed on my '03 ram quad cab with a JL Audio 500watt amp and it is awesome!...it blows my friends 2 rocksford fosgate shallow mount 10's w/500watt amp away..(not really a fair comparison but it works)....bottom line is its awesome but a little on the pricey side.

hope this helps

Are you talking about the JL 500/1v2 amp? If so I got that powering two Boston G2 10" subs in under my back seats in a custom box, its an awesome amp
