Default Quality of tint?

I am wanting to get my windows tinted and my brother in-law said he would do it if I bought the film. He does it at his second job and I've seen the quality of his work so going somewhere else when he can do a fine job isn't an option. I found some places online where I could get some but was wondering about the quality of the stuff at O'Reilly's or Wally World. I know I'm going to pay a little more but I don't wanna wait to have to order something. Is the quality on par or is it just junk? I know some was made by Black Magic but I know there were other brands also. I appreciate your insights in this. Thanks

Victor

Not sure what those stores carry. Do you have any specs available on what they offer?

Whatever you do, don't go cheap as you'll be doing it again and again and again.

The shop I go to, and have for over 10 years, uses Llumar films. Great quality and I've never had any fade or discoloration.

Good luck with your project!

My shop uses the Llumar as well, and nobody's complained about the quality. You can generally tell a cheap tint by the purple hue it seems to ahve when passing light rather than the black/smoked look you really want. Also, if he does it, make sure the window is CLEAN, like 2 coats of alcohol after a good degrease or it'll start to lift and you'll get nasty air pockets.

Llumar again! We've done Llumar for years and have never had a problem.

definitely Llumar. No other way. Thats all we use at the shop. Only complaint we have is customers getting pulled over for having tint.
