Hadn't thought about getting them re-sleeved, that would definately give me a lot more life out of a seasoned block. And would be much cheaper in the long run. Might have to start looking in BC for a motor since they're in huge demand in Alberta and go for a premium.

And that really changes things Tom. Knowing I can get a new 5.9L H/O rotating block for $5000... this could become a reality sooner that I thought. Might have to say no to the procharger for the 1500, but I could live with that if I made a high HP/TQ dakota.

If you do it I would put a 12 Valve Cummins in it, a lot less electrical problems to deal with in that swap.
