Default Real duals

RansRam posted a video here about his truck with a Flow Master 40 but going to other videos attached and there are several, including an R/T, outfitted with true duals.
My questions therefore are: To make the exhaust a true dual, are the pipes connected to the cats or are they removed. What about routing? Is there space under the truck for two pipes all the way back?

FYI, Sorry but that was not my video, if you look up in the post you will see that it's mattones posting (his truck sounds great by the way !). I am looking for options and have not made the swap from stock yet. According to another post there are other options for performance, I'm curious what they are ?

yes there is plenty of room to do true duals..you can run 2 mufflers side by side (where I have my single in mine)...

I use to be a Flow guy (flow50 delta) and i thought i was pretty fast with it (based on 1/4 times), without thinking about the performance aspect I switched mine out for magnaflows because the flows got unbearably loud inside the cab...when i switchd to a mag (only change to exhaust then) I asked the muffler guy to put a reso on (my thinkin it would still be loud), he forgot to and told me to drive around and if it was still too loud he'd put it one on...when I started my truck I had to look down at the tach to see that the engine was running..the sound was a fraction of what the flow was, I was so relieved that now I'm not embarassed to have people ride with me, but more importantly, my 1/4 times dropped an mph increased which tells me that at wot, the flows are restrictive. If you like the flow sound then try dynomax's...they are also chambered but flow much better..

Hope i'm not hijacking this thread, I did intend to start a new one. Can I simply swap out the stock muffler with a dynomax and can I get a kit and do it myself ? Really want to keep all the stock parts and be able to switch back if I need to ?

you can do anything you want..get the muffler first so that you can measure out the length and cut and just us clamps (I like the walker sleeved clamps)..or take the muffler to a shop and have them do it so that they can put a hanger on the muffler too.

But wheres the best place around here to get just the muffler and pipes/parts to do it myself ? From my understanding the performance mufflers are smaller than the stock so I would need some pipe/clamps/connectors to compensate for the difference. I can certainly cut the pipe myself and install on the truck (not worried about that). Just need advice on where to buy..

So what are the best performance mufflers that still have some serious growl?
