Default Really Need Help About to GIVE UP 5.9l MAGNUM Ram 1500

Ok guys I bought this truck off my boss its a 1999 Ram 1500 with the 5.9 Magnum in it. Since the day I bought it the idle has been wierd, it will idle somewhat smoothly for a while and then get rough and then sometimes the truck will actually stall. Also whenever you hit the gas it seems to bog then start moving then bog over and over again sometimes followed up with a spark knock, it does this off and on its very wierd. Im getting 6.9 mpg!!!The thing that is really discouraging me is I changed the belly pan gasket and pan and its still doing it. The plugs, wires, cap, and rotor are also relatively new. I dunno where to go from here and have no clue what the problem could be. The only mods I have is a intake and lift. Is it possible for the tranny to be causing this??? Sorry for the long post. PLEASE HELP ME THANKS GUYS!!

Have you had the truck scanned for any codes ? Cleaning the throttle body (if not already done) could help with the idle quality . Another member on here has been complaining about the same issue . It could be low fuel pressure , bad map sensor , tps etc... Check for codes first and get back to us . It would be great if you could also go to the newbie section and introduce yourself . Also complete your profile in the User Cp at the top of the screen . It shows us what you have when posting a comment or a question .

I'm liking the MAP sensor idea. If you have access to a scan tool that will give you a data stream, hook up a vacuum gauge to manifold vacuum and compare the readings from the scan tool to the vacuum gauge. At any given RPM the MAP voltages should be relatively stable and not jumping around.

Default Scan

I did have it scanned before I did the plenum gasket it was a miss fire on no. 8 cylinder, and bank 1 rich condition. I cleaned the throttle body whenever it was off th truck. IM gonna scan the truck again now since the check engine light is still on.

Check the fuel pressure and volume when the level is low and it's acting up. You could have trash in the tank that's causing a problem.

You either have a bad sensor, short to power on the signal wire or bad PCM.
