Angry Wax on the Spoiler

How do I get wax off the rough plastic spoiler on the tailgate?

Whenever I wax and polish my truck I run painters tape over the edge of the rough plastic spoiler and side rails to keep from accidently getting wax on them. My wife came out while I was buffing the front end and before I realized what she was doing she'd grabbed the wax and started on the tailgate. You can picture what happened next. I've tried everything I can think of to get the wax off the spoiler and nothing is going my way. Would appreciate any ideas.

Acrually I used that back to black on that crappy black crap on the tailgate and it looked worse than before. I just avoid cleaning it all together haha

That back to black is awesome on everything else black on the truck!

Mineral spirits or baby oil....for me, it takes it right out.....apply with a toothbrush.

I'd already tried denatured alchohol and acetone with no help before I turned to you all. After I posted I went back out, tried WD40 and it got about 1/2 of it. I'll go back out and try the peanut butter. I don't have any baby oil but mineral oil is pretty close so I'll try that too. I'll report back shortly.

The peanut butter worked great so I didn't try mineral oil. There was a slight issue in that I needed to rub down the entire spoiler so it all had the same sheen to it but other than that no more white streaks. Still going to use the froggie tape but it's nice to have this back-up. Thanks guys!
