Default Towing. what do I need, should I get?

I am new to the forum and new to dodges and have some questions. I have a 2012 ram big horn with 5.7 hemi. I am towing a 28' 6200lbs travel trailer. My gas milage cuts in half when I tow and want to know what parts I should add for extra power and better gas milage? and where to get the best deals on the parts? also what should I use to beef up the rear suspension.I run a weight distribution hitch but still get a lot of bounce on bumps. Also does it make much difference in sound and performance if I remove the rear resonators of the duel exhaust?

what gearing do you have in your truck? you can get lower gears to help the power at low rpm's to get the whole load moving.. also, what wheel setup do you have, I got rid of my stock 20's for stock 17's for a lighter setup. Can also look into a cai and a catback setup to improve engine performance...after that there is not much else you can do until one of the tuning mfg's has deciphered the pcm and make an aftermarket programmer for the new years..

I have 3.92 gears. Is this good? I dont know much about this stuff.I am running the stock 20s too. Also a Mopar CAI came up for sale local and it is brand new for $340. Should I get this 1 or is there better ones aftermarket?

Hello tmac. Just to add to your upgrade list; you said you experience tail bounce when going over bumps with your load? The OE Tokico's are ok shocks but if you really want better load control, consider air bags or heavy duty bilsteins and TufTruck HD rear coils. JMO.

You can install the Firestone bags yourself for under $200. That will solve your springy - loose feeling rear end problems.

For more power go with headers and change the Torque Converter. do a search on both of these and you will find they are the best mods for our trucks.
