Default Cracked dash?

Does anyone here have a problem with large cracks in the dash? I have taken care of mine, yet it still cracks. Its just frustrating that I do so much to make sure my truck stays in mint shape, and then something like this is beyond my control. anyways, just wondering if anyone else has any ideas to prevent further cracking.

I've never had any problems with cracked dashes but I have heard of a few urban legends that I am not sure is true is not.

1 keep dash protected
2 do not use Armor All
3 if you do use a protectant do not only use once and not reapply for months because that will cause it to dry out quicker
4 keep dash dusted and remove dirt
5 keep in the shade as much as possible
6 apply protectant regularly

had a upholsry guy tell me if you use only baby wipes on the interior plastic it will last forever. the soap is very gentle ( babys butt ) and it contains lanolin to keep it soft. he beleives in it so much that he garrenties his work for as long as you own itand beyond. iuse it myself and no problems yet on my 04 ram .

I just don't like the smell of babies. I guess I am going to have to get use to it when I have kids but I don't want the inside of my truck smelling like babies. I do like the smell of a good protectant. Am I strange? LOL.

Yes, I think you're strange. I imagine a good scent for you would be Prolix total gun care oil.

I just did a search for 'gun oil' and you wouldn't believe the hits I got, something along the lines of KayWhy. I guess it's for a different type of gun.

Also, keep your vehicle out of the sun as much as possible. The suns rays kill the dash.

All good ideas here, the visor not using armor all are the best so far. Not sure about the baby wipes, but what would inspire the girlies more than getting into your truck and it smells like a baby!!!!

I like leather. In my truck I have cloth seats with leather air freshners. My wife thinks I am nuts.
