you guys are missing a key factor too. You gotta have traction. A drag radial is not enough.you will need a full on race slick. I was cutting consistent 1.6 to 1.7 60 ft times. A 2.0 will not net you a 12 secnod pass. On a 100 shot I could manage to run a 13.2 on a 125 I could get12.9's and the 150 was 12.7's

If you're going to get that specific, then track prep becomes a huge issue as well. The best slicks in the world will struggle on a poorly or unprepped surface. Not to mention, track temp, air temp, baro pressure, humidity...all the things that figure into the density altitude equation.

But i think you left out heads in your mod list (this is huge)... and you would prolly hafta get your custom tune from where Chris and me go to (Bob@SVS...not to take anything away from the other guys)... set your goals and start hitting the track...try going frequently enough to see how each new mod performs. And an important key is driver skill as well..no way a novice can drive my truck and get the same time's I get. So, two factors..mod combos and driver experience...
I totally agree with you i mean like 13.4 i know its far away i mean in the same are i talking about below a 13.5

yes i know of that hmm but arent slick like easy to break stuff because of the grip they get. will the caltacs prevent that in a way.

now keep in mind in racing a 13.4-13.5 is not considered anything close to a 12.9 and definatly not close to a 12.7. close in the racing world will be about .1. your talking half a second or more, that is not considered close. yes slicks can brake things. thats because your only as strong as the weakest link and if the weakest link is the friction of the tire to the track that will give out first. yourun a slick and the bite it has no the track is better than the ujoint in the drive shaft the u joint will fail. i have a driveshaft (and u joints) that was custom built. i was told that if it fails under 1000 HP they will replace it and anything it takes out for free. with the SRT-10 rear end, (its a dana super60) it will hold up to a bunch of abuse. my weak link is the trans, so if anything was going to fail it would have been there. its not as simple as bolt on heads cam and nitrous and run fast. you gotta built the whole truck.

man i hope you can be the first on DFZ to run a 13.5 in your 07 but there are a bunch on another board that allready run that and faster.

True, especially when you consider that each .10 of a second is approximately one vehicle length. Being beaten by 5-6 lengths certainly isn't close.
