By itself it doesn't hurt anything but it allows increased RPM and that is what kills engines, the added RPM.
Keep the revs down, keep the level no more then 100 horse and you can use stock timing, stock plugs and enjoy.
Remember nitrous doens't kill the engine, the added rpm does.
first of all, Welcome to RF.

Now I have run nitrous for 10 years.(on various cars/trucks) My truck was running a 150 shot. stock timing, one heat range colder plug, and 108oct race gas. (and soon that same motor will be running in my duster it has 105,000 miles on it and has never once been treated with respect. its been run hard and put away wet since i got the truck with 14,000 miles on it) If you installed my system and kept the jets that I PAID for I would be rather pissed. Just because you say that a 100 shot is best. Really its not your decision on what is run in someone elses car. Next your telling me that installing nitrous will raise RPM? I have never seen a nitrous system raise RPM. Well I have in the movies, but that is crap. Nitrous does nothing more than add more O2 so that the motor can in turn burn more fuel. that is all.

Untill you can show me facts on Nitrous raising the RPM of a motor dont put out bad info. Nitrous will raise the combustion chamber pressure. add more O2 to allow more fuel to be burnt, and (if its a wet system) add the needed fuel to burn. that is all. it will not spit a blue flame out the tailpipe, nor will it raise RPM. I am guesing you think its possable to pull a wheel stand while spinning the tires too. (just like they did in the movies)

Now your comment about nitrous not killing an engine is true when used correctly nitrous has minimal impact on the life of the motor. RPM will tare a motor apart true, but if your running within the limits of the stock PCM or even raised shift points on a programmer your not going to spin the hemi up high enough to cause any major damage. there are members on this site that have seen me spin my motor up to 7000RPM. and its still running strong. with nitrous the main killer is lack of fuel. lean motors run hot. the heat melts things, that is your greatest killer with nitrous.

kudos. To be fair....you can pull a wheelstand while smoking the tires but none of us are runner old school diggers anymore so it's HIGHLY unlikely.

an air fuel gauge is nice but not "needed" you need a bottle pressure gauge and a heater. Lok up nitrous outlet. You can't go wrong with there stuff. I highly recommend them.

you don't need one in the truck as long as you moniter your bottle pressure. I don't have one in the cabin just on the bottle
