Most of the reading I have done here indicates a programmer would be best. They can be costly, but they are yielding great results. Most of the Hemi owners are turning to Diablos. Other than that, I really am not sure. I hope this helped a little. Sit tight and I'm sure someone will chime in with some other advice. (I drive a diesel, so I don't have much Hemi insight currently.)

The words Hemi and fuel economy are mutually exclusive.

I see...I've heard about the programmers too. But I don't know where to find them here in Houston. I was reading one thread about the 2010 Ram and they were saying that using the tow/haul function in the streets saves some gas. I wonder if that applies to the other generations such as the 2005

All the tow/haul would do with the '05 is disable the O/D gears, which would give you more pep, but not so much on economy. The tuner will definately give you a MPG boost, but the driving habits is the biggest thing to look at. Slower take offs give the best result when it comes to stop & go traffic.

First, give it some more air in and more air out if you haven't already done a CAI and exhaust.

And if you have done that, try a programmer.

Oh, and I know this is hard, but keep your foot out of it. Try trimming some lead outta your right foot.

An exhaust coupled with the mods MADDOG mentioned will make your truck breathe easier, and in turn, improve MPG. Whether it be Flowmaster, Magnaflow, Gibson, or any number of others, any of them will help It's up to you on how you want it to sound.
