Default Shop needed in Southern Ontario

Hey guys,

Looking to get some recommendations for a shop to get my Bilsteins installed at. I live in Guelph, but am in Kitchener-Waterloo and Hamilton quite often. I have been quoted $400 so far.

Thanks,
Ben

I had mine done at an Active Green and Ross on Dufferin south of Lawrence. They quoted me $375 incl an alignment. But then it took them longer than anticipated and the shop closed. But they stayed to finish the job. So they didn't do the alignment and I paid $275. I threw them an extra $25 as a tip.
It ended up taking them 5hrs. I'm glad I didn't bother doing it myself.

Thanks for the response LowUFO. Did they have problems with the lower strut bolt?

I think I will getting a few more quotes and go from there. It's good to know what other people have paid though.

I moved to a new place and don't have a garage any more. So I really don't feel like attempting this job in the driveway in January.

Have you checked out auto FX in hamilton? They do lifts all the time, levelling should be easy. I'd call for a quote.

I had a levelling kit put on by Action Trucks. Very good service here. Check them out.

Hey BennyG, if you're in Guelph stop in & see Ron Ramsay at Access Auto down on York Road. He's moving up onto Industrial into a bigger shop soon but he's a very honest dude & won't do you wrong.

Glad to see another Guelph guy on here

Actually, they had problems w the top nut. They called me and asked if they could cut the old strut and I told them to go for it as I had no intentions of using them again.

Yeah that top nut is a pain in the a** I did them myself. My mechanic quoted me $400 for install and alignment, but I ended up doing it myself and getting an alignment done for $70 bucks.

I kind of conned the guy on the alignment haha he told me $130 taxes in, and when I went back to give him the truck he asked for $130 and I said I remember you said $70 if I paid cash, and he was like "oh, right!" haha and away I went!

Thanks a lot for all the responses guys.

Action has already said that they wouldn't install them. But I will make my way through this list and get some quotes. Just have to find some time now, after bringing our twin boys home for the first time.
