Good Morning all. Just had my new Intergrated Trailer Brake Module delivered to my office by Dodge... Here's a pic of the back; you'll notice that the part number has officially changed to "AG" (which we all knew), and it appears the "SW" number has changed too... maybe "SW" = "Software"?

Just finished the install. It took me about 15 minutes total (thanks Netman66!).

One item that wasn't mentioned: the unit is actually secured into the dash with THREE screws; the orignal two mentioned by Netman66 (once the unit is screwed into the bezel), and then an additional screw that goes through the metal dashboard frame and into the unit towards the rear of the unit's left side. If you look at Netman66's photo:

you can see the brass threads on the left side. This un-supplied screw is the exact same as the screws that are used to hold the bezel to the dashboard.

After hooking up my RV (I did not pull it out of the yard), I could hear the trailer's brakes engaging when they should of, so that's good. No error codes, and all the module's lights went on with the ignition. However, the manual is kind of confusing when it discusses the "Trailer Brake Status Indicator Light". This lights up with the ignition, but then goes off.... not sure if it's supposed to stay on or not.

Good to go now. The 2010 code worked, once I told the local Dodge techs to search for the code by the part number under 2010 Rams and not my 2011 VIN. After speaking to the Asst. Sales Mgr they paid for the flash too... No complaints here!

P.S.: the service underwriter did hand me the "don't install unless it's original from the factory.... update due early Nov 2010" notice... but I think that he didn't believe it either since it's Dec 3 now and there is absoltely no logic in it....

Took my 2010 Ram 500 in for the K17 Heater Recall and asked them to reflash for the Mopar Trailer Brake Controller I installed per the instructions on this thread.

They knew exactly what to do, I didn't have to explain to them how to do it like I thought I would have to. $60.

Here is what shows up on the EVIC.

When you first start up with the trailer hooked up. Lasts about 30 seconds:

Shows up in the Vehicle Info section:

The bar increases with more brake pedal pressure:

Upon pulling the plug with the truck running:

EVIC displays same as the module:

Got mine flashed and all is well. Dealer knew exactly what to do and said they do it on a regular basis and there are no issues they are aware of.

Default Need for integrated brake system

I was told by parts man that it is not advised to install the factory unit without the integrated brake system. Ram is supposed to have a kit out by end of Jan. to avoid the issue.

The factory unit is the integrated brake system, they are not different item. Integrated brake controller means, OEM brake controller. If you have both plugs in the harness, you should be fine. The kit I think focuses more on the fact that some harnesses only have one plug.
