I love my truck but this problem is making me question the quality of Dodge Trucks. One more question I have for everyone is gas mileage. I have the 32 gallon tank and I get exactly 400 miles to every tank before it is within 25 DTE. Does that seem right??
Our Jeep has just over 100K on it. I don't know when it started, but it was probably after the warranty was over. Either that or I just dismissed the idea of having them look at it because they are worthless if you can't easily duplicate the problem.

It could just be the idle surge. when you come to a stop (especially if it's a quicker stop) the idle can drop below 500rpm briefly. It will pump the idle back up and it will surge against the brake slightly. Watch the tach for the next couple of days and you'll likely see this pattern.

Hey man, sorry I think the torque converter was for the shudder problem everyone was having. I guess I got the two mixed up. I definitely feel it thud just about every time I come to a complete stop, even when I stop and then let it roll for a few feet and stop it again. It's annoying because now I think about it all the time. It's a 2010, when I take it in I will let you know what they say (if anything at all).

Default Thud Problem

Cap10,

I'm glad to know I am not the only one. I would really appreciate hearing what your dealer does or says is wrong. I have contacted Dodge headquarters and they have assigned a case mangager to my truck problem. Mine is now doing it sometimes before I stop and then after. Also it is doing the "thud thing" in reverse. All I have to do is back up and stop and the thud happens but it is much harder than if stoping while going forward. ANNOYING

MotorCityRam,

It's not the idle surge. When this bump or thud happens it comes from the rear of the truck and underneath but you can feel it through the seat, armrest and center console. It seems to be getting worse in my truck. I hope they find the problem soon so all new 2010 Dodge Ram owners can know what it is and get it fixed if it happens to their truck.

Hey, what is the number to contact to report this, I will do the same so they have another person with the issue and can see that it is not a fluke, mine is doing it sometimes before I stop as well, almost like it thuds forward as I roll to a stop at a light.

Yeah...that's definitely different. Idle surge is almost easy to miss if you're distracted. Hope you can get it fixed quickly!

Yeah it's not allowing the link, if you go on dodge forum . com and search drivetrain problem it should come up.

Cap10,

The number is 1-800-992-1997. I starts off automated but the option is report problem with new vehicle and then you should get someone. I think I pressed 0 and went straight to the customer service rep. They had me a case manager the very next day. However all they did so far was push the problem back to the dealer. Now the dealer is supposed to call me and have me bring it back in AGAIN(3rd time). At least now the district manager and head service manager will be involved.
