So should I take my truck to the dealer before I call them or should I just call them to report it and then take it in? I have the Mopar lift kit on the way and would like to just deal with all of this at one time rather then take it in twice. However, I also want to get it resolved before they put the lift on and then blame it on the bigger tires. Although I was told the warranty would stay 100% with the Mopar kit, I have a feeling they will just try to use it as a scapegoat for the issue.

I would take it to the dealer and notify Chrysler about the same time. I would also for sure get it fixed before any modifications are done. Dealers always blame problems on modifications because it is an easy scape goat for them. Today I turned off my Hill assist in the EVIC and the problem still happened but the truck did seem to do better with it off. The factory had it set to on by default.

Cap 10,

Have you heard anything from your dealer? My dealer is taking truck back again next Teusday. I turned off the Hill Start Assist but it is back doing the bump or thump thing again.

I asked them and they said that is the first they have heard of it and if it were a transmission issue the light would come on on the dash because the truck's computer would sense it. Of course driving it over to the dealership it didn't thud at all (go figure). So I guess I will just have to see what happens over the next few weeks.

You know, Toyota Tundra's and Tacoma's have a pretty much identical complaint and it turns out to be the slip joint in the drive shaft
They use spicer, some have said re packing it with some sticky grease stop's it but the exact reason the drive shaft makes the clunk is unknown

Cap 10,
Pretty sure I found the problem we have been talking about. My dealer has my truck and I will know by the end of this week what the fix is. I know for sure it has something to do with the Fuel Tank and how much is in it. I'll keep you posted

Waiting to hear what the issue is so I can be prepared when I take delivery on mine. I hope you all get to the bottom of your issues with your dealers and are able to regain the pleasure of driving your ride.

Hi guy, new to the forum, i'm a Jaguar/LandRover mechanic in Canada... i own a dodge Ram 2010 since a month now... I was feeling the same at the begining but now its a lot better.
I dont know excatly how the Transmission Control Modul work but on Jag they learn how you drive, hard or smooth driver, that means on a brand new car you may feel the transmission weird the first hundred miles cause the TCM is learning and this may cause those problems. If you want to make sure it's coming from your training, when driving, if your problem is usually around 20mph or 30mph when you start slowing down to stop, try puting the car in neutral just before it happens and slowdown the car using brakes, this way you prevent the transmission from downshifting, then pay attention if the problem happen again. Another way is to downshift manualy.
Ask your dealer if there's any updates available for the TCM, sometimes guys just dont look for any solutions cause usually you loose more money on warranty jobs than you make. I know it's sad but it's true !
