No leveling is required after the install. It's not difficult, but be careful when removing the grill. After the 4 bolts on top of the grill there are plastic spring clips at the bottom that need to be released and then 2 friction pins to pull the grill out towards the front of the truck. If you just tug on the grill then these may break Dont forget the single metallic screw inside the headlight access panel or you'll be fumbling around for awhile.

Pull up on the plastic radiator cover (all friction pins so pull straight up)
4 screws on top of radiator/ engine bay to release grill - plus 4 spring clips and 2 friction pins on bottom (pull directly towards front)
2 screws in front of headlight assembly
1 screw and the headlight release lever on inside of wheel wheel (push directly up on lever to release ball bearing lock)

I mounted the ballasts on outside of frame inside the headlight assembly cavity

Cool, thanks for the quick write up! Sounds like it's gonna be a little bit of fun. My old F-150, all I had to do was open the hinged rad cover under the hood, and the light bulbs were right there, a 1/4 turn and they were out!

I was able to remove my headlight assemblies without removing the grill. I used a 10 inch extension for my ratchet to get to the bottom headlight screw.

Could it be that the two different removal methods talked about here are because of different headlight configurations? My truck has the quad bulb configuration and I didn't have to remove the grill. Two screws under the hood on each light housing. One on top inside corner with the head pointing forward and one down low on the inside edge behind the grill with the head up that you access with a long extension on a ratchet. The hardest part was the freaking slide lock thingy you did by feel unless you remove the wheel so you can see (or have a very tiny head and shoulders so you can squeeze in there). It's just a thought but is the dual headlight housing mounted differently?

yes, but easy once you figure it out...... the part where you open the small door in the fenderwell to get to the retainer you must slide down to unretain is a damned trip. Dodge has closed the gaps tight on these trucks. The CD is low for a pickup. A top design engineer for Mercedes is responsible for some of what you see. So it is not an easy task to remove these lights until you get the hang of it.
