I don't know about where you live, but, in my town I can go into a couple different auto parts stores & rent almost any tool that i don't have, just put down a deposit

see if you can borrow a compression tester from a store or a friend,
change your oil & filter before starting it back up
also if you lost all of the water & anti freeze, make sure you fill it back up, you MAY also need to burp it to get all the air out of the system

good luck

I just got finished changing the oil and I didn't see any more milky fluid in it. Seems like there is still some hesitation when starting it. I have never had a problem with hesitation before when starting. i did notice some red colored fluid on the bottom of the oil cap when i took it off. It smells like coolant, but the coolant is green and I am not losing any coolant. i think I am gonna take ya'lls advice and combine a coolant pressure test and cylinder tests to see if I will be able to pinpoint the problem.

Turns out one of the heads was cracked. The other one was warped. That's the chance you take when buying a used vehicle. I am replacing the engine this coming week. i still love my Dodge. I will let everyone know what is going on when I am finished

Sorry to hear that, have you thought about upgrading the engine before installing the new one?

I have thought of upgrading some engine components, like the heads, but I am still hesitant to do so. Since I am not looking for all out power, but instead reliability, i wasn't sure of any upgrades i could do. I am upgrading other things though. like the air intake and I am gonna look into getting a double radiator. That 4.7 gets warm pulling all that truck around.
