I had an 07 silverado 5.2L and was about the same mpg as my 09 hemi, however it all depends how hard you are pressing the gas pedal. If you are looking for good fuel mileage a truck is probably not the way to go.

In the city not so good but on straight highway trips I have seen over 20mpg (300mile round trip average). I've been around 12 or 13 mpg mixed city and highway.

The new Rams get a lot better fuel mileage than the older ones. My Ram is an 07 and on average I get 12MPG, the new ones I have seen members state they get 18MPG and higher. The new ones have the variable valve timing which give it much better fuel economy and it also has the MDS system. If you are worried about fuel economy maybe a truck is not a good idea, but the new Rams do get a decent MPG

Oh ok I retract my statement. As the owner of a 2010 has just stated that he is getting the same as me on average hahaha. I guess the 18MPG and over that I have seen is just guys telling their highway MPG

never perform as good as the reviews state. closed track, no hills and not stop and go. I don't pay much attention to the EVIC MPG, but I can go from Halifax to North Sydney in Cape Breton 450 miles on 3/4 of a tank (98 Liter tank)

It's the nicest, smoothest riding truck I've ever ridden in! Good power (esp. with the Holy Trinity of Upgrades - Diablo programmer, CAI and Exhaust), good economy (I get nearly 16 (& rising) city and 22-24 highway) and great looks! Add to that the endless ways to customize and I don't see how you could go wrong.

It also depends on which truck you are asking about , the Crew Cab Hemi, with 3:21's are getting the best mileage, on the highway, when I first got mine before a lot of people, I posted OVER 20 miles to the gallon, and was crucified, WELLLLLLL.now that they have been out a while, the norm is over 20, this is hand calculated, mine has never gotten under 20 on the highway, my 1999 318 would never do that, and remember I have a Crew Cab, with 20's , the engine turns 2000 RPM @ 90 GPS verified at the track
and as far as a dog off the line , I am not a professional racer, but at the dragstrip here, I ran a 14.9/14.8 after learning how to take off..LOL the 3:92 truck really take off..
to me the trucks do what they advertise...

My 09 CC short bed 4x4 averages about 18 mpg with mixed driving, mainly city. Just got back a few weeks ago from its first long trip. With 5 passengers and the bed loaded up to the bed rails and soft tonneau cover, I got 22 mpg. I was going about 75 mph the whole time and that was going up and down mountains.
