Default No room under the hood

Hi there, I'm a newbie and i've just purchased a cold air intake and throttle body spacer for my truck. The problem is that i can't fit both under the hood/ fire wall. Has anyone run into this problem with the older ram body style? Any solutions besides not installing them? Thanks

Leave off the spacer. They don't do enough to matter anyway.

Glad you joined us and welcome to the Z for Rams from Baltimore . I would agree with that also . With the type of intake manifolds we have , It wouldn't make a bit of difference . If you could go to the top of the page to the User Cp and complete your profile that would be great . Helps us see what you have when your posting a question or comment . Do you have any pictures of your truck ? Have you done any mods or have plans for mods in the future ? Any of your friends have Rams ? Tell them about us . We would love to have them . You will find this site is full of a lot of talented people . So if theres any question that you need answered , just shoot away . Talk to ya soon . Tom

Welcome to the ForumZZZZZZZZZ

I have not, but, what about a shaker style hood or cut into the hood & fit a hood scoop that is open towards the wind shield or like this

Hello and welcome to the site! I would say leave the spacer off as it doesn't do anything with the kegger style intakes we have.

Got any Pics???

There are a lot of talented people on this site, so if you have questions feel free to ask, and I am sure someone will be able to help. If your looking for some accessories check out our vendor section and may the modding continue or begin

Welcome to the Z from Calgary! Glad to have you on the board as a member; Tell us more about you and your truck; some great mods ya got there, what kind of mods are you looking to do to the truck in the future? Performance/appearance/suspension? Lots of options, and hope we can answer any questions you might have. Also, don't forget to fill out your UserCP so can have a quick reference to your truck's details if you have any questions/comments in the future.

As for the intake issue, I'd personally leave out the spacer as they result in no real gains unless you're running a nitrous system OR have an aftermarket single plane manifold. An aftermarket cowl-wood would allow it to fit, but seems a bit much to spend to get no gains. Only other option I could see is to get the plate shaved down at a machine shop OR put a hole in your hood to let it close properly.

Also, check out our alberta local chapter, where are ya in good ol' AB?
