Default Which Anti-freeze??

Hey guys I have a 2009 Ram 1500 5.7 and I need to know what type of coolant I can use in my truck and how much does the system use? The antifreeze looks orange in color. Can I just go to the store and use the prestone that states is is ok with any color or is there a special one that I need. Thanks!!!

When I refilled mine I went to the dealer. I was given the "red" stuff. I think it was for big rigs.

there are really only 2 types of coolant, green stuff and the red stuff. You can go green, but you need the flush the whole system to go green. The red stuff is said to be better for the enviroment and is a little better at cooling than the green.

Again, you can't add red to green or green to red.

In summer I find 90% water 10% coolant to be the best for cooling, especially when towing. The 10% coolant keeps radiator from rusting.
