Cannot say for sure because I am also new but I have seen other 1500's pulling them. So I would assume so and would hope they are not wrecking it knowingly.

Not that it is much help I guess.

Yes, it can as long as the truck, load in the truck and the trailer do not exceed the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) for the truck.

They can tow 5th wheels, just be aware of the GVW; and when looking for your 5th wheel, remember, think loaded weight.

that's really cool. Now onto properly educating myself on trailer or 5th wheel proper set up and towing. I don't want to just get something that will "work". I want a proper setup that will keep me and others safe and happy.

You shouldnt have a problem as long as you keep in mind the weight. I have a 32 footer but i dont tow..........People that i know and have talked to love the 5th wheel. Much easier to move, handle, backing up etc..........Im 6foot 6 and the front of a 5th wheel isnt for me.....

I'm 5 foot 4 inches so I can fit into small space
I'm told that the short bed makes it difficult to turn with a 5th wheel
I think that if I can find a light and small enough 5th wheel that I'll feel confident and safe to tow, it might be the better route for us.

No issues turning a 5th wheel with a short box. My parents have their 5th wheel in the back of an '08 QCSB 3500 and dad even put a jockey box in there, so there's lots of room. You just need to look at where the tongue sits on the trailer and move it as far forward as you're able to without putting too much excess weight onto the truck.

You might also want to check the RV forums ( someone suggested that to me as well ) They have alot of towing info in there especially regarding fifth wheel towing.
