Default Dumb Question

So i want an led tailgate light bar. My question is, do i need 60" or 49"? Also which one has the scanning turn signals? is it just the firestorm?

You'll want the 60", it'll go the length of the tailgate

I think the Plasmaglow Firestorm and the Recon Xtreme have the scanning turn signals

Hey man not a dumb question at all. You would want the 60", you can go 49" but it will be short.

Also almost all of them have the turn signals but not sure if they have scanning ones. I have the one that blinks like a turn signal, the half of the bar blinks. The ones that say they have the scanning are the Firestorm and the Xtreme

That is correct... there are many companies that make the tail lights... and there are a couple that make scanning ones.

The smooth scanning feature is made by PlasmaGlow... its the FireStorm.
The step-by-step scanning is made by GoRecon... its the Xtreme.

Both are really nice lights. so its a matter of preference.

I personally like the Fireglow because of the scanning action of the turning signal is smooth. You can see what I mean here:

Here is Recons:
Look closely you will see a couple of lights turn on at a time.. Step-by-Step:

Here is PlasmaGlows:
Very smooth scanning feature:

They are both great... But notice what the Dodge Ram is sporting.

Tim

Thanks for that Tim, I've seen both of those videos, but it's nicer to have a side-by-side comparison

Thanks, Tim! I been thinking about which one to go for--the Plasma Glows appeal to me more after seeing them side-by-side.

I agree. First I thought the Xtremes were pretty cool. No one out here has something like that. But then I saw the plasmaglow... and did not realize it was different at first. I had to look back and forth at the videos a couple of times because initially I knew there was a difference... but did not realize what it was.

I ordered the Plasmaglow one... and I think they have great packaging and the item looks to be well built. I just finished sending out a Dealer application to them.

I personally went with the 49" myself as I wanted to break up the LEDs on my tail end. But for a full size, the 60" is what you want. I got the Recon line-of-fire as I didn't want the scanning feature or the reverse lights, just red running/turning.
