Default Pedal Assembly Loose

My brake and clutch pedals wobble about four inches side to side. I haven't seen any loose bolts or nuts under the dash. But didn't look too hard considering it's -4 degrees right now. Does anyone know what it could be and how to fix it? Thank you.

Its been a while since I've been under the dash of an older vehicle or any vehicle for that matter. But if I remember correctly, the pedals are mounted on rubber bushings which are around a shaft or bolt.

The pedal bushings are probably shot.

Thanks for the quick responses. Is there anything in the way that I will need to remove in order to see if that is the problem? I have limited time in a heated garage and would like to know exactly what I'm in for.

Also they move together, so if i move one left the other goes with it. Is there a cotter pin on the end of the rod that they could be floating freely and just loose on that rod? Thanks again.

I've been trying to figure out my problem and it's not the bushings. the rod that the two pivot on is actually loose and off of the bracket on the brake pedal side. I tried getting it to go back in but it won't seem to go. Any new suggestions?
